Bonnie Sue Shaffner, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and steadfast soul, passed peacefully and without pain on April 16, 2025, while in hospice care, surrounded by her family.

Born on June 24, 1946, in Stroud, Oklahoma, Bonnie was the cherished daughter of Jewell Iva Holland and Sidney Oscar Holland. She grew up in Orange County, California, before returning to Oklahoma, where she graduated from Davenport High School in Davenport, Oklahoma, in 1965.

It was there that she met the love of her life, William Howell Monroe Shaffner. They were married on September 3, 1966, and spent the next 59 years devoted to one another — a living testament to faithfulness, endurance, and unconditional love. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two children: Rebekah Sue Newman and William Zechariah Shaffner.

Bonnie dedicated her life to her family. Her greatest joys were found in the simple, sacred work of being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She poured her heart into creating a home filled with warmth, love, and strength — values she carried faithfully throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, William; her daughter, Rebekah; her son, Zack; her seven beloved grandchildren, Madelyn Sue, Hannah Jewell, Kale Matthew, William Elliot, Catherine Rebekah, Elizabeth Michele, and Victoria Maeve; and her great-grandson, Adonis Isaiah.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Jewell and Sidney Holland; her three older sisters, Wanda, Iva, and Carmen; and her two older brothers, Ralph and Mack.

Her life was a quiet but powerful testimony to the strength of faith, loyalty, and family. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will ripple through generations to come.

Bonnie’s family will honor her in a private memorial, celebrating her life, her impact, and the immeasurable gift she was to all who knew her.

"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her." — Proverbs 31:28
