Dorothea “Nana” Elizabeth Patrick, 91, of Midwest City, OK, passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2026. Dorothea was born at home on September 7, 1934, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Carlton and Clara (Childs) Young.
Dorothea graduated from Southeast High School in Oklahoma City, OK, and attended college at the University of Central Oklahoma for voice and business. She began her career as a sales clerk at John A. Brown and a grocer at Safeway. Later, she became the successful owner/operator of a pizza restaurant. Most notably, Dorothea perpetuated Alamo Florist, a thriving business established by her mother during the Great Depression. In her youth, she anchored the Kilty Band as a bass drummer and was a leader in the Pythian Sisters organization. In retirement, she served her community as Board President of the Canadian Shores Homeowner’s Association.
Dorothea is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Young; infant brother, Baby Boy Young; son, Bryan Patrick; and husband, Jack Patrick. Dorothea is survived by her children, Vicky Patrick-Ross; Peggy Peake and husband, Fred Peak; Naomi Daugherty; Larry Patrick; and Jackie Jane Patrick. She was Nana to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothea took many interests throughout her life which included: ceramics, quilting, needlepoint, and genealogy
