Edward Gordon Martinez

Edward “Eddy” Martinez, 64, of Jones, Oklahoma, went to be with our Lord on Monday, October 27, 2025.

Eddy was born on April 29, 1961, in his grandmother’s home in Pueblo, Colorado, lovingly delivered by his grandmother herself.

As the son of a military family, Eddy spent his childhood traveling across the country—living in Colorado, Alaska, California, Oklahoma, Utah, and beyond. He eventually settled in Del City, Oklahoma, where he graduated high school and made lifelong friends.

Eddy was a man of many trades and talents, but his true passion was always entertaining. Whether he was singing, playing his guitar, or sharing a story, he had a gift for making everyone around him smile. He began his career with the City of Midwest City, where he met the love of his life, Susan Mason. Together they built a beautiful life in Jones, Oklahoma, where they especially cherished their annual 4th of July dinners and fireworks gatherings surrounded by family and friends.

Eddy loved to fish, and he was known for his legendary “fish stories” that only grew better with each telling. His humor, kindness, and larger-than-life personality will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Martinez, and his grandparents. He is survived by his beloved mother, Nancy Martinez; his partner, Susan Mason, and her family; his sons, Chad and wife Trish Martinez, and Edward Martinez and partner Penny Christou; his brothers, Randy and wife Valerie Martinez, and John and wife Melissa Martinez; his sister, Debbie and husband John Murray; ten grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many more loving family members and friends.

Eddy will forever be remembered for his music, laughter, and the love he shared so freely.
