Gary N. Clay, age 75, passed away June 25, 2026 in Muskogee. Gary was born December 30, 1950 to Henry and Mildred Clay. In 1984 he opened Five Star Roofing and in 2004 changed the name to Advanced Roofing. On October 23, 1990 Gary married his soul mate Theresa Strader. In 2012 Gary opened a second business, Five Star Recycling before retiring in 2018. In 2019 Gary and Theresa helped their son Dalton open Five Star Rolloff Services. Anyone who knew Gary knew he had a love for dirt track racing like no other. You could always find him piddling in the shop fabricating something new and working on the race car just to make it perfect for each weekend. In 2002 Gary started building Outlaw Motor Speedway and completed in 2003 when they had the first race season. He sold the track in 2008 and then bought it back in 2019. Even after Gary’s diagnosis you could find him at the track on the grader perfecting it to give the racing community the best each weekend. He loved going hunting and enjoyed his hunting trips with friends and family. Above all, Gary loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gary is preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents; paternal grandparents; grandson Ethan Catlett; brothers Larry Hall and Ronnie Hall; cousin Dwight Clay; aunt Arlene Adams; and son in law Charlie Saffell. Gary leaves behind to cherish his memories, his devoted wife Theresa Clay of the home; 3 daughters, Lisa Catlett and husband Wally of Owasso, Kimberly Clay of Muskogee, Brandi Ramirez and husband Saul of Ft. Gibson; 1 son Dalton Clay and wife Madison of Muskogee; 2 brothers Earl Hall and wife Peggy of Checotah, Dan Hall and wife Gina of Muskogee; 3 sisters Donna Morse and husband Ed of Muskogee, Debbie Rooks of Tulsa, Carol Elledge and husband Sheldon of Ft. Gibson; 6 grandchildren Erin Cave (Wayne), Samantha Clay-Durossette (Whitney), CJ Saffell, John Saffell, Katy Ramirez, Dawson Clay; 9 great grandchildren Kloey, Madison, Zane, and Zachary Boling, Xander and Judson Cox, Mateo Ramirez, Jasper Wilson, Charlie Cox; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends who loved him. Memorial Service will be 2:00pm, Thursday July 2, 2026 at First Assembly Of God Church in Muskogee under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home.
