Janice Elaine Meredith

Janice Elaine Meredith was born February 5, 1947, to Norman and Nora Crawford in Wichita, Kansas.

Jan had a tough childhood, but her mother made sure she graduated from high school and encouraged her to pursue her dreams. Following her mother's passing Jan went on to put herself through Washburn University School of Nursing in Topeka, Kansas. She graduated in May of 1989 and became a dedicated R.N.

Jan married B.Wayne Meredith, now deceased, on July 24, 1993, in Topeka, Kansas. She had one child who died shortly after birth. Janice is survived by two granddaughters, one grandson, two "adopted" granddaughters, numerous cousins and many who called her "Aunt Jan".

Jan enjoyed painting, crocheting, and was also an avid reader. She especially enjoyed science fiction and mysteries, often referring to herself as a "trekkie".

She spent her later years in a nursing home where she was loved and well cared for by many nurses and staff. Jan loved sitting outside in the sun and winning many goodies playing bingo and racing the horses. She also enjoyed time away from the home to get a Sonic burger and her favorite onion rings, followed by a trip to Braum's for her favorite cherry-pecan ice cream.

Jan loved the Lord and will be greatly missed.
