The family of Leota Kay Barnhill is saddened to announce her departure from this life on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the age of 80. Kay met the love of her life, Edward James Barnhill, in 1958, and they were married for life in 1961. Kay is survived by her 4 children, Edward James Barnhill Jr., Edwin Dale Barnhill, Leota Kaye Lemaster, and Cathy Renee Campbell; her sister, Judy Beth Blackmon; a multitude of nieces and nephews; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Edward James Barnhill; mother, Jewel Melton; and sisters, June Barnhill, Linda Jo Stremlow, and Bonita Melton. Her life celebration will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Hibbs Funeral Home, 2190 Harper St., Choctaw, Oklahoma 73020. Her final resting place will be at the Jones IOOF Cemetery, N. Hiwassee Rd., Jones, Oklahoma 73049, following the services.
