Mary Ruth Taylor

December 24, 1945 — November 30, 2025

Mary Ruth Taylor, 79, of Jones, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, with her family by her side. Mary was born December 24, 1945, in Wetumka, Oklahoma, to Ovie Webb and Ruth Marie (Hunt) Webb. She moved to Jones when she was five years old. Mary attended Jones Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, where she served as Vice President of her 1964 senior class.

Mary married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Taylor, on September 25, 1964, and they made their home in Jones. Mary worked a brief amount of time outside the home as a preschool teacher, but she prided herself on being a homemaker. Those who knew Mary know she kept an immaculate home for her family and provided home-cooked meals daily for Kenneth and their children. Mary loved to travel. She and Kenneth explored much of the United States together and visited many of the national parks. One of Mary’s favorite pastimes was dancing. She was a gifted dancer and won many dance contests during her teenage years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Grover Webb and Stanley Webb; and her sister, Charolette McGee.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Kenneth, of the home; daughter, Lynnette Stephens, and husband, Larry, of Jones; son, Monty Taylor, of Jones; sister, Shirley Webb, of Harrah; and grandchildren: Eric Williams and wife, Kayla; Tyler Williams and wife, Amber; Justin Taylor and wife, Rachael; Jordan Taylor; Callen Stephens and wife, Stacey; and Lauren Harless and husband, Steven. Great-grandchildren include Brooklyn Williams, C.J. Stephens, Avery Williams, Callie Harless, Hartly Stephens, Cole Harless, Easton Williams, Rayleigh Taylor, Kash Taylor, Ellette Williams, and Amelia Williams. Mary is also survived by brother-in-law, Danny Taylor, and wife, Shirley Jo, of Jones; sisters-in-law, Betty Harris, of Midwest City, and Judy Landry and husband, Brent, of Willis, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their deepest, heartfelt thank-you to Wolfe Living Center at Summit Ridge for the exceptional care they provided Mary over the last three years and for the love and support they gave the family as Mary transitioned to her new home in heaven. A special thank-you to Luminos Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for Mary and her family.
