Michael Joseph Souza

Michael Joseph Souza, 81, of Choctaw, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025. Born on June 19, 1943, in San Francisco, California, Michael lived a life marked by devotion—to his family, his country, and his values.

A proud veteran, Michael served in the United States Army, where he embraced the discipline and structure that shaped the rest of his life. He was deeply patriotic and honored to have served his country.Michael was a very energetic person and loved to talk to everyone he met. He retired from GM after working there for over 30 years. After retirement, Michael could not stay still so he worked as warehouse manager for Ethan Allen and then finally retired completely from Leepack. He loved to be around people.

 Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marsha; his daughters, Debbie and Julie; his granddaughter, Jennifer; and his great-granddaughters, Nevaeh and Aubrey. He also leaves behind his brother, Don Souza; nieces Lisa, Rochelle, and Deanna; and nephews Brent and Chad. The family wishes to extend special thanks to nephew-in-law Ron for his generous help in guiding them through Michael’s well-earned veteran benefits.

Michael’s steadfast spirit, sense of duty, and deep love for his family will never be forgotten.  A Graveside Service for Michael will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the Elmwood Cemetery of Choctaw, Oklahoma.
