Ruby Ann Harris, daughter of the late Harvey and Betty (Bryen) Williams, was born on February 10, 1950, in Nicoma Park, Oklahoma, and peacefully departed this life on July 8, 2026, in Stroud, Oklahoma, at the age of 76.
Ruby was raised in Nicoma Park and was a proud graduate of Choctaw High School, Class of 1968. Throughout her life, she built a career rooted in dedication and hard work. She began in the banking industry before transitioning into accounting in the oil and gas field. She later found her calling in the food service industry, where she worked for Scrivner Foods, Sysco Foods, Singleton Seafood, William E. Davis Foods, and ultimately US Foods, retiring in 2017 after many years of faithful service.
While Ruby had a successful career, her greatest accomplishment and joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Ricky and Holly, and nothing brought her more happiness than watching her grandchildren, Cooper and Cayson, grow. She rarely missed a baseball game and was one of their biggest supporters. Even when the Oklahoma heat became too much or walking to the stands became difficult, she never stopped cheering them on. You could always find her watching proudly from the comfort of her car, determined not to miss a moment.
Ruby found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved getting lost in a good book, faithfully keeping up with her favorite soap operas, watching the Food Network, and discovering new restaurants. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved dog, Piper, who was a constant source of comfort and companionship.
Ruby will be remembered for her quiet strength and wealth of knowledge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Williams and Betty Ezell, and her sister, Beverly Criner.
She leaves behind her loving son, Ricky Harris and his wife, Courtney, of Choctaw, Oklahoma; her daughter, Holly Harris, of Choctaw, Oklahoma; her cherished grandchildren, Cooper and Cayson Harris; her beloved dog, Piper; as well as several extended family members and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her love and friendship.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered every day.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Hibbs Funeral Home in Choctaw, Oklahoma.
